FitBF

1.   I am looking forward to       swimming! I can't wait for the pools to open up

2.  Something kind of embarassing that I still love anyway is    Poison. That's no joke. I really, truly love Poison. And may I add that I appreciate my husband who bought me one of their greatest hits cds for Christmas, even though he is against my love for them.

3.  My favorite car is     a Corvette. Always.

4.  If I could pick one type of weather to live with for the rest of my life it would be   early spring here in Middle Tennessee. Low 70's, sunny, slightly windy.

5.  My favorite thing to do after a bad/stressful day is     to take an extra long hot shower.

6.  This weekend       I am working on Saturday (yuck) and really looking forward to a very chill day Sunday. We are not planning on going anywhere or doing anything and I couldn't be happier about it.

7.  If I were a color, I'd be       blue      because,      I had no idea how to answer this so I took an online quiz. Apparently  blue indicates that I enjoy friends and family immensely. True enough. .

Maddie is 3 Months!

That's right, Maddie Grace is 3 months old now. Where has the time gone? In the past month, she's changed so much. She is such a happy baby now, and is so close to erupting into belly laughs all the time. She still hates tummy time, so we haven't made much progress in the rolling over department, but she has super strong legs and can support her weight as long as we keep her balanced. We got her a bumbo seat since she loves sitting up, and she is a big fan!
She's also still got a head full of hair, and her eyes are starting to lighten up a bit-we may end up with another blue eyed baby. The jury is still out on which one of us she looks more like though.
In other milestone news, she's been sleeping in her bed for over 2 weeks now! Yay! We still get our snuggle time in at naps, so I'm not suffering too much. :)
She is eating about every 2.5-3 hours (although she went through a growth spurt earlier this week that changed that) and when I'm at work she is eating 6 ounces from her bottles. Pretty soon, we'll be starting rice cereal, which I have a feeling she won't love like Kiley did, but we'll see!

As you can see, she definitely has quite the personality, and she is loving stuffed animals!

Something I'm Passionate About....

...is homemade baby food! When I had Kiley, at the young age of 21, I didn't think much about feeding her Gerber jarred baby food. After I found out I was pregnant with Madelyn, I did some research on it and decided to do homemade baby food-it's better for babies, as well as more economically and environmentally friendly. I am not one to judge people who do use store-bought baby food, just to be perfectly clear. I am just explaining my choice this time around. The best resource I've found for baby food recipes is Wholesome Baby Foods. Great recipes and feeding guidelines. I still want to get a cookbook of baby food recipes to keep in the kitchen, too. Yesterday I went ahead and made my first batches of baby food, since they can be frozen for up to 3 months. I made applesauce from some Granny Smith apples we had, and green beans from some frozen ones we had (frozen is the next best thing after fresh).  So with minimal effort and very little cost I ended up with 8 ounces of applesauce and 4 ounces of green beans. Next on the agenda-sweet potatoes and carrots! Pretty soon my it'll be time for my little princess to try these out:

FitBF

Sorry I haven't blogged much lately, its been a busy week!  I have lots of pictures to share though, and we are having a family dinner Sunday to celebrate Maddie turning three months so I promise to put a full update on here after the weekend!

1.   My favorite daily responsibility is,
looking through and signing off on Kiley's school stuff from the day. It makes me so proud to see how well she is doing.

2.  My least favorite daily responsibility is,    cleaning. It's terrible to admit, but I really hate deep cleaning. If I had the money, I would definitely hire someone to clean for me.

3.  My favorite cuisine to eat when going out is  Mexican. My homemade Tex-Mex just cannot compare to what I can get in a restaurant.

4.  My favorite cuisine to prepare at home is     Italian, not only is it inexpensive, you can be so creative with basic pantry items

5.  Andy Warhol said that everyone is famous for 15 minutes. My claim to fame is  umm...I realy, truly don't know. Maybe my 15 minutes hasn't happened yet!

6.  If I could have 3 wishes I would wish  to be able to stay at home, to own a lakehouse with a pontoon and jet ski, and to have a beautiful house on about half an acre with a fenced in backyard.

7.  My biggest pet peeve is  oh gosh, there are so many. Ok, people who take forever to get to the point in phone conversations, and people who can't understand the proper uses of too vs to, their vs they're, your vs you're, and the like.

Family Movie Night

It was a beautiful Saturday here in Nashville yesterday, or so I hear. I was stuck inside the pharmacy for 8.5 hours of it, ugh! But, today is supposed to be gorgeous too, and we're going to the park to see Bill, Jill, Kayla, and Cason. Hopefully I'll be able to finally get some pics of the babies together.
Even though I did spend most of my Saturday at work, I still had a fantastic night with my family. I got home around 6:30 and made a "16 minute meal" recipe I got from the Pioneer Woman....Bowtie Lasagna. Side note: I didn't have bowties, so I used macaroni noodles, and it was still delicious! I think this would work well with any type of short pasta.  This is the second Pioneer Woman recipe I've made, and I'm definitely a fan. They're yummy and don't require a lot of fancy ingredients that you wouldn't usually have in your house.
After dinner, we did movie night with the girls. We've had ET recorded for over a month now, so we watched that, and Kiley LOVED it! She laughed, she cried...it was a hit. I liked it too-much more than I did when I was a kid (it scared the living daylights out of me back then).  This was the first successful whole family movie night we've had since Maddie was born. Yesterday we switched her to 5 ounces per bottle, and she seems a whole lot happier and is demanding to be fed a lot less. Definitely a good move.

Fill in the Blank Friday!

1.   Something that makes me a great friend is,      I am really dedicated. Once I consider you a "true" friend I will do almost anything for you.

2.  I am  frequently impatient, a baking fanatic (esp. anything with chocolate, a decent pharmacy tech, and an internet addict.

3.  I am not   good with the general public, good  at being lazy, patient.

4.  If I had to describe myself in 3 words, they would be     silly, honest, and introverted.

5.  Something I'm really cheap about is     clothing for myself. I am the worst about going into stores, finding something I like, walking around with it for about 30 minutes then putting it back.

6.  Something I'm willing to splurge on is      anything for my girls!!!!

7.  I would trade      all my purses to be able to stay home with Maddie everyday  in a heartbeat.
